It began with a Dream of the 90′s.
Portlandia is a tv show to stretch our imaginations while shrinking our egos (sometimes it’s healthy to poke a little fun at ourselves). If you haven’t seen it, each episode features a collection of sketches that highlight Portland, Oregon’s eccentric and quirky inhabitants. More importantly, if you haven’t seen it, you need to see it! Since its beginning there have been skits inclding Put A Bit On It, Did You Read?, and Sanitation Twins. Now we’ve reached the end of Season 2 and it’s all about to change.
This friday at 10pm, Portlandia’s season finale “BrunchVillage” will represent the first ever episode to have one linear plotline. It will feature characters we’ve seen before (Fred & Carrie, Toni & Candice, and Peter & Nance) as well as special guests Tim Robbins, Kyle MacLachlan, Ed Begley Jr. and Steve Jones.
The episode focuses on the trendiest breakfast joint in town, Finsherman’s Porch, and all of the desperate people willing to wait in line for three hours just to say they’ve tried it.
That’s right, we’ve all been there. Even in Boston, foodies and trendsetters alike swarm the newest and best-reviewed breakfast joints, desperate to be the first from their group of friends to have eaten there. In the end, “BrunchVillage” will teach you reasons to wait your turn in line (unless you are the kind of person who enjoys being force-fed Pop-tarts), but mostly it will teach you the many reasons to go out and eat pancakes right now!
My recommendation to you? Pair this season finale with some breakfast for dinner, or you’ll be dreaming of brunch for the next few weeks.
